We can find wisdom through Tao, though Tao does not provide it.

Wisdom, knowledge and understanding are born of experience. Even if some entity could instantaneously bestow these gifts upon us, the chances are good that we wouldn't understand them fully WITHOUT experience as our guide.
Every step or misstep provides a lesson...if we are willing to look.
