Like the sun, Tao's essence shines on all things. It is we who decide whether we will oppress or be oppressed. The end of oppression will occur when humankind casts aside wanton ego and desire.

ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about this post for a day...this comment sounds a little like Legge. Sometimes I wonder if he (and sometimes you) haven't merely substituted "Tao" for" God" as something to believe in.
I think "Tao's essence" is qi, something you rarely talk about. Is that what you meant?
