When a delegation of Taoist priests from a nearby temple came and offered to absorb the community as one of their own, Zhouzi answered thus:
“Though all things in the world are divided by class, the Mystery in all makes them both One and Unique. To class the Mystery, whether as a this or a that, would be like attempting to parcel the sky. Pray call us Taoists for the sake of the peace, yet we cannot embrace one thing at the expense of the rest.”
