Tao Bible - 2 Chronicles 9:20

And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was not any thing accounted of in the days of Solomon.
~ King James version ~

Opulence breeds resentment.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
Solomon shows that he has been "blessed" by the Lord by flaunting his great material wealth.

Tao doesn't hoard. Tao gives freely to all.

When we hoard possessions, we turn from the Way. We create our own suffering by dangling trinkets in front of others and increasing the desire of everyone -- Our desire to protect what we have and other people's desire to steal what we claim.
