Tao Bible - Deuteronomy 28:1

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth
~ King James version ~

Followers of the Way will be low like water.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
Moses tells the people that, if they do all he has commanded, the Lord will make them the greatest nation on earth.

Taoists endeavor to follow the metaphor of water. Water always seeks the low places and from there nurtures all. Instead of seeking power, fame and greatness, Taoists accept simplicity and humility.

  1. I just wanted to say Happy Birthday!! I hope your foot is healing and that the impending shoulder surgery isn't weighing too heavily. Hope also that you are surviving our blustery Washington weather which I suspect is much worse where you are than here on Vashon. Have a great birthday!

  2. The shoulder surgery has been put off until spring. Winters here (as I know you're aware) can bring a lot of iffy weather. We have loads of mudslides and severe storms. Those factors can make it difficult and, at times, impossible to get to appointments -- particularly important for follow up care.

It's not blowing that much today, but, as of 9am, we ALREADY have picked up more than 2" of rain. High tide this afternoon will cause a lot of low level flooding.
