Whether or not you think global warming is a key factor, the U.S. Climate Prediction Center is warning folks that this winter is shaping up to be one with extreme weather.
I guess we will need to keep a snow shovel and umbrella near the front door. :-(
A strengthening La Nina has the potential to create weather extremes across the U.S. this winter, government forecasters said Thursday. The South can expect a warmer and drier winter than on average, while the Pacific Northwest should see colder and wetter months from December through February...Our first storm of the season is forecasted to roll in tomorrow. We're under a high wind watch and gusts could top 65 mph. Rough storms are typical in the fall and winter here, but, if the above prediction turns out to be on target, we may be in for another year like 2007 when we had to put up with hurricane force winds on several occasions!
