Tao Bible - Exodus 7:18

And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink of the water of the river.
~ King James version ~

Tao has no malice towards anything.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
In order to frighten and punish the Egyptian people for the hardened heart of the Pharaoh, the Lord God kills all the fish in the river.

Besides the fact that Tao does not mete out punishments, it would be hard to fathom Tao killing one set of beings to punish another set. On an elemental level, all substance is made up of the same compounds. Since all substance comes from the same source, all things are equal in the heavens and the earth.

  1. it's always astounded me that the christian god metes out punishment by punishing the innocent. innocent animals, children, slaves, wives, etc... almost as if they were just chattel to him (hmmm)
