And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Here we find one of the many instances in which the conception of time differs between these two diverse perspectives. In the Judeo-Christian mind, time is demarcated by definitive beginnings and endings, starting points and finish lines. What has once been created can be destroyed.
~ King James version ~
Through yin and yang existence is a perpetual cycle.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
From the standpoint of philosophical Taoism, time merely is a human construct used to denote the phases of a never-ending cycle. Every perceived end point flows into another perceived start point and vice versa. It's like trying to decide precisely where a river flowing into the sea ceases to be a river or where the ocean meeting a river ceases to be the ocean.
