Money to Kill

If you're out of work, can't find a job and your unemployment benefits have maxed out, don't look to Uncle Sam to come flying to your rescue. As CNN reports today,
Unemployment benefits are set to run dry for 1.2 million people nationwide Friday after the U.S. Senate decided not to extend a deadline to file for these benefits last week...
At the same time, Amy Goodman of Democracy Now reports that,
The U.S. House of Representatives is under pressure to pass a $33 billion Afghan War supplemental this week.
There are a lot of indicators that clearly show that our lawmakers have their heads up their you know what, and this certainly falls in that category. They continually are eager to approve money to kill, but seem reticent about appropriating money to live!

If you don't understand the egregious amounts of taxpayer dollars Congress gleefully throws at the war machine, you should checkout this information on world military spending and the large portion of such spent by the US.
