Rain, Rain

I've noted many times before that it rains a lot in South Bend. It rains so much that the various weather services have developed cute ways to provide the forecast for the upcoming day. For example, here's today's forecast from WeatherBug: "Mostly cloudy. Showers likely in the morning...then a chance of showers in the afternoon."

Let's see. A good chance of showers in the morning followed by a good chance of showers in the afternoon. Wouldn't it be easier just to say a chance of showers all day? But what about tonight? Not surprisingly, the forecast calls for "Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers."

Do the people in the Phoenix-Tucson area have to put up with these kinds of silly pronouncements? Today's forecast calls for sunny and hot in the morning, followed by a hot and sunny afternoon/evening.

By the way...it's raining. :>)

  1. lol i really wouldn't know. if i'm traveling then i go look up the forecast online and if not then i just wait for the weather to happen. :) by looking at the weather outside, right now, i'd say it's cloudy and breezy with a good chance of rain, which means i should do chores early today to avoid getting caught in it. i don't need no stinkin' weather man. ;)

  2. this cracked me up, I moved from Roseburg (OR) to Sedona (AZ) and went from raining all the freakin time to hot and sunny all the freakin time. OK, honestly, I'll take the hot and sunny...except for August, when I head up to Oregon!
