Wen Tzu - Verse 108, Part III

Greatness of aspiration means to embrace myriad nations and unite different ways of life in an egalitarian way, being a hub at the center of a collection of judgments of right and wrong.

Too often, I worry that some people may misunderstand Lao Tzu and Chuang Tzu's insistence on living the simple life. As this passage underscores, simplicity should NOT be equated solely with passivity and a disengagement from social life.

The person who embodies the Way tries to bring peace and justice to the world.

  2. He is talking about Greatness of Aspiration, and what that is.
    He is not saying it is good or bad.

    The master knows it is not his job to do anything to the world.
    He says he thinks it is perfect already.
