It's Not So Different

While surfing on YouTube tonight, I came across several videos of TV commercials from the 50s & 60s (one set is featured below). In one way, these ads seem primitive, sort of like watching something from the Stone Age. On the other hand, however, I realized that marketing has changed that much between now and then.

It's a good nostalgic trip down memory lane for us oldsters. (I actually remember several of these ads.) For you younger folk, I'm fairly sure you'll find the ads quite hilarious.

  1. Hi-
I remember some of the ads, as well. Great video, thanks for the trip down memory lane. The cigarette ad was particularly fascinating, huh?

  2. What I find most interesting in watching this video and others is the number of products that have vanished. I used to love Bosco, but one day it was no more. :(

  3. Ya, so many products are simply gone. My Mom recently mentioned that for pain she and her siblings took Anacin - that is no longer on the market. And for cuts/scrapes, - mecurichrome. And my grandmother kept "Brisochi" in her apron pocket - ate it like candy!!! I remember bosco too, and Ovaltine.

Again, thanks for the nostalgia. I loved it.

  4. Ovaltine is still around. I have some in the kitchen cabinet right now.

I remember Anacin well. They had some good commercials.
