For the past few days I've been writing in torrents. Almost everything I've come in contact with has spurred me to ponder a question in the form of a blog entry. I was something akin to a raging river in which the banks couldn't hold back the overflowing water.
Today, however, the torrent is starting to recede and again take on the nature of a lazy river. The flow is far more tranquil and it pools in places. Words and deep thoughts are more sporadic.
This is the way it is with rivers...and blogs. There is a constant dance between yin and yang. I learned long ago to just let the river go where it may. If you try to force it to flow at a certain rate or move in a particular direction, you're trying to define its nature in unnatural ways.
So, I'm going to go down to the lazy river to sit a spell. I'm going to find a comfortable spot to watch all the critters that the river supplies sustenance for. I'm going to watch the sun and clouds play hide 'n seek or peek-a-boo.
When the rains return -- today, tomorrow, who knows? -- the torrent will begin anew.
