Off to See the Wizard

Had another gallstone attack last night -- much more painful than the previous one. Seen at ER. Received two doses of highest potency pain meds. I'm still really loopy. Due back in 20 minutes or so for gallbladder removal surgery.

As far as invasive surgeries go, this type relatively safe. However, no surgery entirely safe. So, if this becomes last blog entry, you'll know why.

  1. There's nothing like pain to make you appreciate the absence of it.

I read somewhere, that the mind can not remember pain, but I don't know about that...
These days, I really appreciate those days when I wake up and don't feel any.
Advancing age brings pains that we never could have imagined before they appeared.

There must be a good side to it all: like maybe the first sentence in this comment :)
    Everything is a circle.

  2. If you're reading this, you're baaaaaaaack. Hope the operation went well. It's crappy to be in so much pain. Treat yourself to something nice...the Tao loves self-indulgence just as much as self-denial.

Well, at least you'll have some good material for blog topics. Let us know what wisdom messages you got from this ordeal.
