The delusion of the people (on this point) has indeed subsisted for a long time.I think it would be safe to say that each of us has our own set of prejudices and biases. These notions burrow into our thought process and can be difficult to dislodge. It is not uncommon for new information to arise -- information that should cause us to see things in a different light -- but we resolutely hold to our previous assessment, damn the facts.
