On the one hand, Christians tell us that God is perfect. He is all knowing and all powerful. On the other hand, there are certain passages in the Bible in which we're told that God planned to do one thing, but someone lobbied him and he changed his mind.
For example, there is this passage from Psalm 106:23:
How exactly would an imperfect being -- humankind -- convince the epitome of perfection -- God -- that a proposed action was wrong? If God is all knowing and perfect, he would have a) known the action was wrong at the outset and b) never would have considered the incorrect action in the first place.

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.The inference here is the God was determined to do one thing, but Moses convinced him to take another course.
