Tao Bible - Ezekiel 5:11

Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity.
~ King James version ~

Tao doesn't engage in tit for tat.

Often, in the Old Testament, it sounds like God keeps a running tally of each person's misdeeds or missteps and is prepared to dish out an equal amount of pain and suffering to balance the divine scale of justice.

We create our own misery and suffering. Tao plays no part. When we screw up, the screw up itself typically sets in motion the process which causes our own suffering later on (if not sooner).
