Tao Bible - Proverbs 19:5

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
~ King James version ~

Lies tend to pile upon themselves creating internal tension and conflict where none need exist.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
The difference in emphasis is between the external and the internal. For the Christian, lying will be punished by God. For the Taoist, the person who lies punishes themselves by creating internal division and stress.
